Happenstance
raindrops fall ice sparkles driver barely 16 metal bends around wood from behind a cloud red and blue lights • tears rolling down in the distance remnants of reality held back by the shadows a skeletal branch swings clinging to her body • marking the tragedy night fades to day a small wooden cross kneeling down scarred tree lovers' initials • taking life promise of a new day birds squabble fresh, crisp wind black cotton a premonition • seedling reaches ironic bumblebees impossible flight afternoon sky reminiscing on memories • wind picks up lingering still last moments spent the red of berries her scarf's savior he chuckles at the cooing baby • • •
