This haiku is something that hits home. I can feel the light hit my skin, and I sort of wake up. I move around and then from my small movements they start to move. Sierra |

I really like this haiku it describes a very innocent way to show someone how much you care. In my opinion, true love is achieved when you're able to notice the little details about someone. For example, their favorite kind of cookie. It's a sign of appreciation for everything about that someone. It's admirable to know your partner that well and very rare to find. Courtney This is a very cute haiku that really brings back memories of great relationships and of how much they start out as puppy love and then usually mature into something that should be a bit more than just that. Once it matures more, there should still be that cuteness and that element of the beginning of the relationship is still there. That is what I get from it saying that the last cookie was saved for her because it was her favorite. Garrett |

Growing up as a shy, pudgy, and overall awkward kid, I can relate to the first couple of times I was sitting next to a girl when suddenly our hands brushed or our shoulders were touching. It sounds weird, but even that small of a level of connection can mean the world to someone, and I think this haiku captures that feeling very well. I also think that butterflies are the perfect personification of young love or new feelings for someone not only because of the heart fluttering like a butterfly's wings, but also because of the metaphorical meaning. A butterfly starts as a cute caterpillar, unsure of what it's going to do or grow into, but then, if it DOES turn into a butterfly, oh man. All you wanna do is be with and take care of that little bug because it's a beautiful display of all your hard work and all you wanna do is show it off. Nick |
