awkward smiles
timid conversation
blooming love

unfamiliar
warm hand
against my cheek

the sun is setting
his eyes become the light source
so glad i said i do

walking down the aisle
away from my past
into my future

being in love
much simpler
when she was alive

time hangs on lightly
invisible spider webs
then it falls away

the weather turned.
everything is cold
just like his heart

passing eager inmates
wagging tails behind bars
just hoping to come home

the daylight escapes
our eyes meet in the darkness
my breath is taken

worn suitcases
mountain of cardboard boxes
a heartbroken goodbye
