Pearls Spin, Racing

by
Jordan Comish

Jordan Boone Comish is a sophomore double major in both Communications and Music. He is involved in University Choir, Dissonance, and Wind Ensemble, where he sings bass and plays tuba, respectively. He is a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, of which he is currently treasurer. He hopes to one day work in the radio industry. He can often be found singing or beat boxing. In his haikus, he tries to look past the surface of everyday objects and situations, and instead looks for underlying, deeper meanings.

jewlry box
falls to the floor
pearls spin, racing

raindrops scurry
across the windshield
we don't talk anymore

I walk the path
less traveled
quieter now

billowing silence
in the clouds
falcon soars home

a young sapling
stretches for the sky
at dawn

one path in the trees
I look down
at my own two feet

cool glare over
the scent of perfume
fingers tighten bowtie

racoons nestled
in the nested trunk
snow fall
