Small Town Air

small town air
from above I see
a Wendy's

RS

winter chill in mind
I buy a cup of chili

AB

bare trees
watching from outside
waiting for the storm

CL

flash of lightning
a tree split in two

MV

a bystander
struck by awe
as the moon shines through

RS

reflections off the Chevy hood
Friday nights

AB

baseball tailgates—
basemen and pitchers
of beer

CL

Starry night
taking the players to get ice cream

MV

milking cows
I stumble
And knock over the buckets

RS

dad reminds me again
the barn needs to be painted

AB

cloudy white mist
coats
the horses pasture

CL

summer sun
the farmer tends to his crops

MV

long day at the market
I count cash
in the moonlight

RS

rolling tomatoes in the truck bed
gather in a corner… home

AB

up the stone walkway
turning the key
like I've done a million times

CL

the family coming together
for a turkey feast

MV

frolicking in the meadows,
the hunters
find their dinner

RS

sun sets, inviting the earth
to rest before tomorrow
