crunch of leaves SR home, sweet home in sight RC Family together EO Familiar scents all around OB the moon lights SR minutes pass as RC • shadows linger EO I stare past the trees OB catching my breath OC light beams broken SR cold winter wind RC Hands warmed by gloves EO • The moon shines OB catching a fray string OC the mind is fragile SR I close my eyes RC In my head EO Still, the world spins OB • racing to my term OC rats queue up SR checking my phone RC wandering through the courtyard EO Interesting new places OB my taxi pulls up OC • wipers flick SR hair dripping RC He wraps his fingers EO A piping winter drink OB cookie dives into my drink OC steam warms my nose SR • taking a seat on the couch RC Irritated barks EO Looking out the window OB laughter takes over OC petals caught SR one word hits my lips RC • • •
