kissing on my neck
arched back
head in the clouds

through the Birch forest,
a wooden table draped in lace—
picnic for two

my genes forewarned
secreting milk
they are worth it

our fingers intertwin
I am safe
when I'm with you

arguing
with clenched fists
cherries n' berries

Ellis Island
Immigrants stand crowded
all alone

strong hands
and soft lips
my heart melts away

Let us get away . . .
together
      you and me

beauty in diamonds and pearls
but you
take my breath away

Mom's perfume
the scent
of our home

moonlight
illuminates her skin—
his fingertips trace her spine

cell phone buzzes
it's him.
my heart races

shopping for a dress
the flower girl cries
when she can't wear red

hanging mistletoe
as we unite
the creaking door interrupts

as she zips up her
white dress,
his face says it all

icy winter wind
I grasp tighter
as he lets go

my prince
is actually a frog
re-deep

picnic by the headstone
a piece of me
             buried

time to meet the parents
quick
zip your fly

our love
     comes and goes . . .
             waves greeting the shore

after the divorce
my wedding dress
in the dress-up trunk

the sixties music
so much easier
to dance to

sun setting over the ocean
I enjoy the view
of her bare olive skin

swerving through traffic
coming home
to you

emerald eyes glimmering—
she sips red wine
from a long-stemmed glass

a reflection
lighting up the ocean
the moon

muddy prints across the carpet . . .
the yellow lab
dipped in chocolate

two lovers
surrounded by silence
the flame withering

curls and press
rods and ties
sometimes beauty is on the outside

folding the seems
rip at the dotted lines
jagged edge

gently brushing
hair behind my ear,
a kiss lands upon my cheek

unattractive
desire taking over logic
neck covered in hickies

late in the night
Mother's lullaby
crickets

girl's first love
fingers entwined
in daddy's sweet embrace

the last ornament
now in the box
Christmas is over

my car's noise
disappears
when I get to the dealer

white sheets
this is my first
a new addition

you said you loved me
so why did you go . . .
away

    dark eyes
        following me
  right       left

my first fire . . .
I forget
to open the flu

                eleven steps to go . . .
      three mountains
   two mountains
one mountain

my life at last
more peaceful
without you

first kiss
by the side of the house
with no window

brushing her teeth
he leans from behind her
to do the same

large house in the city
money surrounds me
who am I

heavy lift
just one more
snooze button

puppy's first snow
    sparkling dust
sticking to his wet nose

old window
I look out
pain

he proposes on his knees
he's crying
she is not

empty wallet
expensive dreams
Powerball ticket in hand

quads smoked
solving math equations
to angle out of bed

Eagle soars
taste of freedom
lingering on Lady Liberty

ocean's lullaby
gentle waves
caressing the shoreline

middle school dance
the girls dance together
the boys pretend not to watch

only steady
relationship
her cat

education
test test test
our identities

the dragon beside him
natural smoke rises
in the cold air

sweet aromas fill
the air            stay out
Mom's cooking in there

baby's first steps
1    2   3  4 5
plop!

the cat sleeps
on the window sill
undisturbed

new diploma
exciting job offer
for someone else

early morning class
heavy head
can't wake up

her jewelry shines
not as bright
as her smile
