An Ordinary Love

by
Sarah Hoadley

I chose the title "An Ordinary Love," because I felt it best reflected the gentleness of the haiku in my collection. I have included these because I want others to feel warmth as they read my work. The haiku I have written has been greatly influenced by love.

My muse has been focused around my real life experiences with love, family, and the wonders of nature. I have focused many of my haiku around the twinkle of a star or a spring's breeze. While the more intricate haiku has been focused around love and sometimes heartbreak. I focus on these things because I want my haiku to be a source of optimism and hope, both for myself and others.

touches my face

sharing memories
as they go down the aisle

nap, look out the window,
nap again

Christmas wonder
comes over us
moon glistening above

like the wind
taking us by surprise
love came . . .
