Old Experiences

by
Alex Collins

My haiku rely on the experiences I have seen. Those experiences could be mine, other's near me, or influences I've had from any form of art. Hence, the title. The majority of the haiku written are focused on events from several years ago, but they occasionally have influences from recent times that have given a new lens to those experiences. The haiku in this collection were chosen in attempt to show the different experiences and influences indicative of the title. I hope you enjoy!

leaf
in the puddle
murky water

atop the stairs
jittering feet
pine tree glows

the flower
revives in water
new glass home

blazing fire
under a blanket
fireflies dance

pile
in the corner
unwashed clothes

firefly roams
which way to go
stuck . . . in the middle

dense drifting fog
clearing the way
nothingness

fire roaring into the open sky
body quakes
medical staff rush to help
