Down Home is a collection of haiku that focus on the simple things in life. Not only are they simple, but realistic for most of us that like living beyond the city limits. These poems are based on my real-life experiences and I can't wait to share them with you.

the setting sun
backroad
country cruise

the barefoot little girl
crashes
into her daddy's arms

the brisk wind
holding on tight
Harley ride

the winding road
mama's cooking
down home

barely listening
the bartender's
fake laughs

early morning hour
tiptoeing
around the bed

under the stars bright light
holding tight
they dance

sweat dripping from his brow
praying
the check won't bounce

barefoot little girl
crashes
into Daddy's arms

under the moon light glow
tan lines
start to show
