the gray muzzled dog
climbs into the truck
one more hunt

handmade duck call
on a cold December morning
always brings them in

like an old friend
I visit in the fall
my hunting boots

young teenage couple
whispering quietly
secrets

Cardinals versus Rockies
loud crack
home run

little girl in the swing
spinning around
happy

my youngest daughter
shivering in her waders
hints of light in the East

cold December morning
aluminum Hull
breaking ice

one more project and
the house is complete
finally

old glory raised high
on the flagpole
salute
