Chance Encounters

by
Pamela Kennedy

I am a single mother. I believe that motherhood is one of the greatest privileges that one can be given. It allows you to nurture and love another human being more than your own self. Throughout the here's although I only have one biological daughter I have acquired many adoptive children along the way. I believe that life is a gift that we are to share with the world. Haiku writing has been very liberating for me. It has allowed me to express my thoughts and feelings and a very creative and precise way. When I am writing haikus, I try to keep them as short and sweet as possible while allowing the reader the opportunity complete the experience based on their own life experiences. I don't have a particular seem that I stick with however love is at the center of it all

a rainbow of colors
suddenly appear
what is the limit

looking up
surrounded by hands
facing his box

last time
smile in place
but eyes closed

full of tears
and question
french toast in the car

two feet
one whole shoe
back to bed

a picture says
every word
except her name

the secrets that lie
between the lines
are underlined

dad’s old chevy
more memories
than miles

so much missed without a rearview mirror
