snap chat Alison Kite I relate a lot to this one. I use snapchat every day. Send and receive. I think I have gone through this before having a shattered phone and sending snapchats of my face. This could also go as what Alison said and be about broken memories or feelings looking back at old snapchats. Jeremiah Curry |

blue eyes Jennifer Dial I think this one hit home very much. I know this girl with the most beautiful blue eyes. I just love looking into her eyes. I could get lost in them without even having a conversation. Jeremiah Curry |

thoughtless words Jeremiah Curry I love that this haiku conveys so much emotion. It reminds me of maybe a couple fighting, flowers are given as a way to smooth things over but the issues aren’t really talked about; or it could be about someone being in the hospital being given flowers as a way to cheer them up and distract them from their injuries. sunglasses on her head Randy Brooks I see a dad looking at his daughter after some time away either work or college, she comes home grown up and is a crazy similar resemblance of his wife (her mother) that he loves so dearly. He sees his daughter grown now and loves how much she is like her mother. Alison Kite |

blue car Jennifer Dial This again brings me to this specific girl. It’s so comforting just to be with her. We would take dates and just sit in the car sometimes. Which is nice because some of our deepest convos came from the car rides. I love her laugh so much. Jeremiah Curry |

walking Jeremiah Curry This one draws on the heart; it’s that call in the middle of the night. Your brother is drunk, maybe not in a great part of town. He's super vulnerable and not in a safe place. You may be smaller and younger, but you show up and help carry him home. The rain falls over you as he weighs on you but you don't stop, you keep pushing him home in your arms. You got to get him home, you gotta be by his side, you got to keep him safe. Alison Kite |

warm summer night Jennifer Dial This is very self-expiatory I think; you're laying out by the pond in the warmth of a summer night, not a care in the world, the silence is welcomed, and the crickets sing. It’s peaceful, organic, and nostalgic all the same. It’s something that is special in the Midwest I think. Alison Kite |

bonding over the violence Alison Kite I loved the wit and playfulness of this haiku, it brought back memories of my childhood, the word “guts” really makes you remember how gooey the inside of a pumpkin feels. Reading it through a second time, I imagine a couple of kids making memories together of cleaning out their pumpkins on Halloween. Jennifer Dial |
