The two of these paired together have the perfect contrast. The first one has a feeling of happiness and a sense of summer time. The way flip flop Is pronounced sounds the same as hear someone wear flip flops. The second one is good contrast because the reader can see the flashing lights and hear the person that has slipped. Both have excellent visual and and sharing sounds in the haiku. ~Hannah |

I really enjoyed these two poems together because it created such an atmosphere of late nights in college. When talking about margaritas I think of groups of friends going to mi pueb and getting jumbo margaritas feeling a bit to tipsy to drive home. Calling friends asking for a favor because they had to do the same for them. It creates such a visual for me the salt on the glass the lime on the edge of the glass the smell of tequila. I really enjoy the comparison to talking about a typical Wednesday at LSB everyone no matter what they were doing on a Wednesday night would put it down for a while or finish h.w early just to go get 3 dollar pitchers at lsb not only because of the cheap beer but because of the bad karaoke preformed my our classmates. It was always guaranteed to have a good night. ~Lisa |
