Helping Hands

Originally I didn’t know a lot about Haiku in fact I didn’t know anything about it, but I have gained a deep appreciation and love for it. I view Haiku as a means of expression for authors, and now I see why it is so popular here in the States. I enjoy writing Haiku because I feel as if I’m sharing a story that I wouldn’t otherwise tell people but in a way you can hide behind your words because the world won’t know if the Haiku that you’re writing is about you or if you’re writing stories about someone else. Haiku has allowed me to think about my life in ways that I haven’t before and for that I am grateful!

prom night
full of lace and glitter
my houseshoes

always polite
      always kind
               outside

red means stop
green means go
What about brown?

first date
second date
third year

penniless with
a quarter-tank of gas
at least I have my diam-nd ring

power off
bill-fold empty
playing hide-and-seek

with nothing to gain
I give
everything

tiny ring
missing a stone
her first

rusty old car
muffler dangling
needs a tuneup
