Selected Haiku
by

Tiffany Cleary

I am a new inexperienced haiku writer. I have only been doing this for about a month, and I feel like I have a lot of practice at it already. I feel that most of my inspiration in writing haiku is from my past experiences, and a lot are inspired from my son, Skyler. I really enjoy the haiku that I wrote below and hope you do to.

that cricket
missing in action
still is heard from

laying in bed
thump in the other room
he giggles

vacuuming the pine needles
adding water
still they fall

waiting for Santa
lying in bed
the nurse creeps

walking to school
long wet hair
icicles dangle

warm and cozy
relaxed and content
I watch you sleep

laundry hamper
full of dirty
towels and clothes

the grass grows high
chores never done

up and down
the stairs I go
it seems like all day

driving back and forth
the street never ends

endless trips
to the store
there is never enough

not enough hours
in the day
