Seasons Come and Go . . . Memories

I took this class to meet a requirement for my degree. I had no idea what I was getting into. I had never written or desired to write any type of poetry before this class. I have to say I have enjoyed the class tremendously. My haiku come from memories I have brought back from the deepest possible depths. I think about ways I could write a haiku to continue on the great memories that are buried in my mind.

in the yard
grandpa passes values on . . .

leaves fall
              too

basking in the sunshine . . .
     children playing,
     adults rest

cool fall evening
campfire glows—
empty thoughts

Sunday morning church
cold outside
warm inside

sitting on the porch
pitter patter of rain
wet ground

peeking thru the soil . . .
flower bud

in the garden
shoots in rows
renewed growth

in a maple tree
songs of joy
new life appears

down the street . . .
baby cries

squirrels
frantically unbury . . .
nuts
