Haiku To Edit 2

PACE Global Haiku • Millikin University • January 2008

under the swing
your feet have
carved a groove
in the lawn

muscles ache
grandma whispers
life-long wisdom

threads dangle & color fades
exposing my knowledge—
black belt

her grandmother’s teacup
cracked slightly
where the sun shines through

Orphan Annie
holding tight
to tarnished locket

I walk slow
keeping pace
with the wheelchair

a moment captured...faded to sepia
Middlesborough Picnic
July 4, 1894

grandma’s iron skillet…
on a piped stove
flavors the meal

in the car. . .
music
finally able to let down the windows
