under the swing
your feet have
carved a groove
in the lawn

under the swing…
foot grooves
in the lawn

under the swing
a groove
in the lawn

under the swing
small feet
engraved in the dirt

muscles ache
grandma whispers
life-long wisdom

her muscle ache
still she whispers life-
long wisdom

threads dangle & color fades
exposing my knowledge—
black belt

her grandmother’s teacup
cracked slightly
where the sun shines through

sun shining through
the crack—
in grandma’s teacup

grandmother's teacup
cracked slightly
sun shines through

Orphan Annie
holding tight
to tarnished locket

a tarnished locket . . .
Orphan Annie’s
dreams

orphan
holding tight
tarnished locket

I walk slow
keeping pace
with the wheelchair

a moment captured...faded to sepia
Middlesborough Picnic
July 4, 1894

Forth of July
captured moment faded
to sepia
Middlesborough, 1894

grandma’s iron skillet…
on a piped stove
flavors the meal

on a piped stove
grandma's iron skillet
meal flavored with love

resting on the piped stove
grandma’s iron skillet
flooded with flavor

in the car. . .
music
finally able to let down the windows

the car. . .
music blares
finally able to drive with the windows down

driving in the car
wind fluttering
music runs through my hair
