Life

by
Karen Logue

My haiku are inspired by memories and things that are important to me. I chose these because each has a special meaning to me and represent an important time in my life.

Summer night
an engine roars to life
along with my heart

summer day
children play kickball
ghost man on first

after dark
two sisters running
barefoot

summer night
Mom's voice
three times calling

sandy beach
2 year old's toes
fear

picnic table
soft kisses
for lunch

blue sky
his eyes
capture me

in the park
two friends meet
Heaven

the water boils
along with her temper
time for tea

rally stripes
tan lines
her kind of ink

motorcycles in a row
kickstands down
dominos

Floating

Summer sky
hot air balloon
take me away

floating free
no worries or cares

smiling
the look on her face
says it all

life changes
do we move on
or do we settle

decision made
no looking back

turning red
she blows through
the intersection
