The Best of Times

by
Kelsey Polk

The title I chose was, “The Best of Times”. The first section of the collection was titled, “Summer.”

My favorite season of the year is summer. I chose the following haiku for this collection because they each have some connection to a summer memory of mine. I hope that they come to life for you like they do for me. Enjoy.

Dedication: I would like to dedicate this collection to Diane Polk for all of your help. Also, to my Grandma Polk, in memory of you. Love your little skittle pop.

The next section of the collection is titled “Family and Memories”. My poetic preface is: I chose the following haiku for this collection because they each hold a special place in my heart. Life is all about making memories. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Dedication: I would like to dedicate the following haiku to:
Grandma Polk: I love you and miss you. Thank you for all the memories.

Grandma Gray: Love you! Miss you!

Pastor B.G. Nevitt: You were a great man. You will never be forgotten.

To my dear friends Shelby and Melissa. Thank you for reminding me to look back at all the good times in life and to never give up.
