Haiku

My knowledge of Haiku was very limited before taking Global Haiku Traditions instructed by Dr. Randy Brooks at Millikin University in the Fall of 2012. This class broadened my understanding of haiku reading and writing in many ways. I now understand that a response to a Haiku can vary from person to person depending on the individuals own life experiences. Haiku can strongly trigger emotions and put you in the scene created by the author. Learning about haiku was very interesting and therapeutic for me. I greatly enjoyed this class. Here are some of my favorite haiku’s and a rengay that I have written. |
