Life

by
Kristi Adams

My name is Kristi Adams. I am a very outspoken and outgoing person. People and relationships are my life. I believe Haiku should be a way an author can write for an outlet and connect with their readers on a personal level. The relationships I write about can include relationships to people, animals, and objects. I have a love for reading, so I feel I have a relationship with the characters I read about (figuratively speaking, of course)... I can relate to them. People are very important to me. I grew up in a home with three siblings, so I have a tendency to grow lonely quickly if I am not surrounded by friends and family often enough. I write Haiku to let my feelings out and connect with my readers.

in front of the old brick building
a large oak tree
he sits on the old bench

dog tracks mud inside
mopping up again
how I love those eyes

you were my hero
until that day
i found your stash

the cool breeze from the lake
sun shining on your face
lips so gentle on mine

large maple tree leaves
orange, yellow, and red
you read beneath it

the only one who listens
the one who truly cares
they call her teacher

flames dancing
the laughter of my friends
beer

you mean well
your words slice my heart
empty again
