Loved Ones
by
Megan Minogue
I chose the title "Loved Ones" because every haiku in this collection deals with some aspect of love. Some refer to family and even God. Some talk about love directly, while others indirectly refer to love. Love is very important to me. Without love, I feel that one is lost. It does not matter if it is love of family, love of a significant other, or love of God—whatever it may be, we all need Love.

My favorite haiku that the author wrote was:
white dress—
saving herself
for him
I think this is an amazing haiku and it gives me such a pure feeling of true love, knowing that a young woman would save her most precious gift of all for one man. —Alison Burns

sunny morning
laughter in the kitchen
coffee brewing

Ash Wednesday
a big dark cross
sprinkling down my eyes
|
cold night
he touches her back
they both know

|
|
quiet room
he holds her face
whispering three words

four feet . . .
dangling in the water
as they dream

|
summer evening
the wind chime . . .
quiet
