Tainted Sugar

dead pigeon
its frozen carcass
taints the ground

frosty bark
crackling in the branches

In the sky
A vulture
gliding

passionate licking of the stick
Fun Dip

can’t fall asleep
the moon trespasses
through the window

polka dot dress
on the doll

woodland chants
black hoods
dancing in the flames

Dungeons and Dragons
I can’t sell my vampire dust

black wings
cut through
frigid air

trapped all day
in a ball

Brad Pitt
in the fetal position
he is mine

I change the channel
to Deadliest Catch

tap dancer
fa-laps
on the moon dotted street

the stars go out
bats approaching

antelope
swimming across the river
the crocodile bites its neck

Steve Irwin
jumps to the rescue

swinging
from vines
eating Sakura

awkward positions
the flowers are arranged in

pandas
graze grass
nom nom nom

plexi glass
between us

cannibals
in disguise
call animal control

throwing up his arms he yells
I’m his friend Jesus

flying through the air
he spins the earth
and alters time

an hour glass
sand going up

a night of passion
relived again
autumn breeze

the farmer
drives his combine

cicadas
in the grass
have a conversation

flying squirrel
one is the loneliest number

the moon
lights my hairy moon
my brown eye stares him down

the wind comes
and cools the mood

smoke messages
create a cigarette
above the bon fire

bodies entwined
our racing hearts slow

dew drops
congregate
to watch the sun rise

my toes wiggle
and touch his

sakura petal
falls
into my coffee cup

throw it in my waiter’s face—
the meaning of life
