shaded hammock— the balmy evening a drop the wine bottle slips too many moons slower and • bow song a whirlwind suspended figure skater ice on the lake past the distant firs two crows • rustling leaves entranced, they gaze orange bean-bag chair wrinkled pages cherry blossom bra— teddy bear lost • “I love you” citrus juice dying ivy the outline of the cathedral cigarette filter Grandpa rocking • past Christmas McDonald’s wrappers Jewish reception amidst the mayhem a sunflower field crooked train tracks • in the winter sun a man in a suit abandoned school bus firefly light last night’s bonfire guests stagger home |
