Solo Kasen their bodies outlined water trickling cool melodic breeze campfire burns late summer moonrise smells like smoke • sneaking in after midnight pulling away petals spiraling waterfall crashes stepping on rocks slipping and • moonlight kiss butterflies vanish under the tree playground bullies ripples in the pond tiger lilies and snapdragons • burnt-orange dusk burning through the clouds roses in hand cries herself to sleep the other man two gravestones • moving on countless washings picking fresh produce anger burns full moon shines making up from • heated rendezvous candles light the mood bay-side window birds chirping cherry blossoms dance lives together, • • •
