His Memories smell of barbecue showing the ball neighborhood park momma’s bitchin’ freshly cut grass his last breath • sitting on the porch unused magnifying glass bobber goes under we cross the bridge roasting hot dogs catching fireflies • howling at the moon clothes on the line ice cream melting tire swing on the tree summer love bouquet of dandelions • birthday suits mosquitoes bite drive-in movie secret forest path checking school supplies high as a kite • first holiday pre-game tailgate party sleeping it off adrenaline rush yellow school bus morning sunrise • young doe bedtime stories painting a picture finding his diary cherry blossoms fifty years of lies • • •
