Haiku to Edit 1

Global Haiku • Millikin University • Spring 2013

in the uncertainty of candlelight
a tear of joy on the microphone
dreams come true

roof top
a sweet country tune
summer heat

sometimes all you need
is a little
push

sun gleams
on his barren head
blinding

Kindergarten program
scan the audience
my mom's happy face

Tears well
from a mother's eyes
her first child leaves for college

yelling, screaming
laughing and smiling
I love family

childhood would not
have been the same
without my dog

two youths
hidden treasure
graveyard

I wear the coat
but the memory
does not wear

small fingers stretching
the black and white maze
finding my way

midsummer's night swim
sneaking out
for a dip

tickle-fights before dinner
my dad laughs
the hardest

frozen
smiling face
behind the glass
