in the uncertainty of candlelight
a tear of joy on the microphone
dreams come true

uncertainty in candlelight
a tear on the microphone
dreams flicker like a flame

uncertainty of candlelight
on the microphone, a tear
she could fly

flickering candlelight
a tear lands on the microphone
this is it

uncertainty of candlelight
a tear on the music
one verse left . . .

uncertainty of candlelight
crystalline soprano
she can soar

the uncertainty of candlelight
tears on the microphone
as the stutter returns

spotlight
a tear on the microphone
dreams come true

uncertainty of candlelight
a tear on the microphone
as we lay her to rest

roof top
a sweet country tune
summer heat

sometimes all you need
is a little
push

the slightest nudge
should not be
underestimated

sun gleams
on his barren head
blinding

Kindergarten program
scan the audience
my mom's happy face

Kindergartener on stage
scans the faces
mom's dimples

Mom's happy face
her star
debuts

mom's happy face
her star debuts
in The Three Little Pigs

kindergarten program
the shy girl
finds her happy mother

kindergarten program
the shy girl
sees her mom's smile

Kindergarten program
I scan the audience
mom's dimples show

kindergarten program
I flick through faces
and rest on her bright eyes

kindergarten program
I spot mom's dimples
my song swells

Christmas program
nervous
until I see mom

Kindergarten program
my mom's face
beaming

my mom's beaming smile
light up the audience
kindergarten program

Tears well
from a mother's eyes
her first child leaves for college

yelling, screaming
laughing and smiling
I love family

yelling, screaming
laughing and smiling
Thanksgiving football

childhood would not
have been the same
without my dog

childhood backyard
slobbery ball
in my lap again

two youths
hidden treasure
graveyard

two youths
hunt for treasure
graveyard

two youths
dig for hidden treasure
graveyard

I wear the coat
but the memory
does not wear

small fingers stretching
the black and white maze
finding my way

small fingers stretching
peeking around the bush
finding the way through the maze

small fingers stretching
around a cookie
crunch

midsummer's night swim
sneaking out
for a dip

skinny-dipping
a midsummer night's
secret

middle of the summer
leaving the house
under the cover of night

dark night
dark water
light conversation

by the full
moon's light
we swim

midsummer's night
I sneak out
for a dip

tickle-fights before dinner
my dad laughs
the hardest

tickle-fight before dinner
my dad laughs
the hardest

frozen
smiling face
behind the glass
