Memories Flooding Back kasen

Memories Flooding Back

smell of rain
the senses
flooded

cool breeze
over the meadow

I stare
over the rolling hills
whishing

the sound
of sleigh bells

his shadow
cast down—
moonlight

storybook
images of fantasy

shining knight
he faces
the dragon

locked in the tower
his prize

green ivy
rises
to the sky

the bird song
floating in the air

warm breeze
arrival of
puffy clouds

split in two
lightning strikes

in the eye of the storm
swirling clouds
moonlight

the rhythmic bobbing
of the buoy

my prize
came with a fight
fish fry

on the shore
we cast our lines

warn fishing pole
memories flooding back
falling blossoms

black and white photo
covered in dust

the ground shakes
the rust off
old engine chugging

summer sun
the basking serpent

the half eaten fruit
discarded
past mistakes

the rotten stench
attracts flies

the body
rises from the ditch
cherry blossoms

clouded night
robbers in a grave

crystal gems
golden doubloons
X marks the spot

winter storm
sinks the wooden ship

the iceburg
strikes
she holds on

his loving sacrifice
she hogs the plank

in the darkness
the party searches
dimming moonlight

razor cold wind
mountains peak

tiniest movement
does not go unseen
the soaring eagle

in the woods
they walk together

get inside
the circle
seabear attack

a perfect circle
dreaming in geometry

outside the window
freedom awaits
cherry blossoms

country trail
to the bright future
