Homeless Dreams Global Haiku Traditions |
Homeless Dreams
sit in class
The drab clothed man
tails up
jaywalking downtown
the homeless man
a city officer forces him
•
a stroll
singing to her softly
startled
The dry grass sways
sunshine warms
Always looking
•
He searches
Confident,
Generous rewards
news circulates
the cold rain pouring
hanging his coat
•
kitchen sink
their home flooded
strewn across the yard
fighting the wind
a butterfly rests
Rolling downhill
•
By the hospital bed
The broken hand
Her mother
the moon shines down
The old man
comfort
•
Sinking down
The darkest of days
only for it
he sings of
sitting on the porch
A deep breath in
• • •

Composed by the Spring 2014 Honors Global Haiku Class. Each student contributed one link based upon the prior students work. Few guidelines were given and the result was not changed in any way. This was a round-robin mad verse kasen renga, with writers taking turns linking and shifting off the previous verse. Author links: Randy Brooks - RMB - 7, 23 Composed in Haiku class
