Nature's Wonders
Cool summer morning
stirring ashes to find
golden flakes like
deep in the woods
wolves howl
stars shine
•
the flashlight . . .
he murmurs
forgetting the child's
slip out of his mouth
innocent son
the old lady
•
the child's mother
weighing out her options
gnawing finger bones
dead world
exhaling carbon dioxide
out of the water
•
The fishermen pray
in the forest
nose crinkles
cloudy day—
Hiroshima's
ends in sadness
•
winter
new life arises
pelting rain
freshly painted train car
the southern moon
blowing in the wind
•
in the pasture
bright and beautiful
til the last
spring time—
blossoming . . .
opening . . .

Composed by the Spring 2014 Honors Global Haiku Class. Each student contributed one link based upon the prior students work. Few guidelines were given and the result was not changed in any way. This was a round-robin mad verse kasen renga, with writers taking turns linking and shifting off the previous verse. Author links: Randy Brooks - RMB |
