My Final Wish

Austyn Krueger is a sophomore at Millikin University. She is a chemistry major with an emphasis in research. She chose these haiku for the collection because they demonstrate a wide range of emotions and type of haiku she can write. From personal, funny haiku to peaceful or even dark, she has a very wide range. The haiku in this collection do not have a common theme. the goal was to bring a different mood and image with each turn of the page. enjoy!

dandelion
i close my eyes
for my final wish

a balloon soars
cries
of a child

across the pond
a tadpole swims
through the algae

sun set
my neighborbhood becomes
a snow globe

ice cream at a funeral
she cries
when it hits the floor

her grandpa's funeral
she asks
is it over yet

my first love
with his wife and kids
awkward reunion

warm spring day
i wear
my old white dress

i brush off
the old dirt
her tombstone

hoarder's garage
