Wedding Day

wedding day . . .
I lay my bouquet
on father’s grave

(FR)

I walk myself
down the aisle

(AK)

baby’s breath
on the trellis
her hesitating

(RMB)

grandma to the rescue
everything goes back to normal

(AC)

we spend the evening
telling stories
in the light of the moon

(BJ)

they tune the guitar
their story the lyrics

(AP)

the story break
as the song ends
lovers funeral

(KF)

abrupt interruptions
to the finale

(EG)

the cell phone
foes off
all eyes on me

(NK)

text from him . . .
I blush from embarrassment

(KK)

his text makes
me sick to my stomach
his confession

(KR)

wasting two years
with someone who doesn’t love me

(NS)

in bed alone
the moon shines on me
I get more blankets

(LB)

the embrace of the sheets
to keep me company

(NS)

all alone
I constantly check
my text messages

(KR)

waiting in the car
are you done yet?

(KK)

failing
to see his side
cherry blossoms

(NK)

he buys my affections
for the last time

(EG)
