long meeting
our organization
becomes two

corporate office
the meeting leads to lunch

As we wait
for our meals
distant screaming

the street sounds
of a decaying city

the roar of the day
becomes night
the silent moon above us

silently I watch her
watch herself brush her hair

gazing at my relfection
    I become
    unrecognizable

the name missing
on the tombstone

Years go by
scientists uncover
the dark secret

the missing body
discovered in the lake

the fisherman
     tons of fish
     severed head?

the shark devours
the dismembered head.

The police hose off
the crimson sidewalk
