Summer

first day of summer
I take my shirt off
For three months

ap

the sun shines
on my ghastly skin

kf

my father, a soldier
home from war
smiling

eg

dancing in my room
no one’s watching

nk

my disco ball
hangs in the sky
dancing in the moonlight

kk

the rhythm inspires me
I write down my memories

kr

daily diary entry
I record the
joke she told me

ns

I look outside
leaves falling

lb

stuck in traffic
the cab driver asks me
“How ‘bout them Packers”

fr

Wisconsin pines
        we pause—for a picture

ak

cool breeze
across the lake
baiting grandpa’s hook

rmb

something bites the line
it’s just an old tire

ac

staring up at the moon
we enjoy
the night

bj

head over the toilet seat
still no regrets

ac

sunburnt back
please
don’t touch!

rmb

“wet paint”
I lean on the wall

ak

Japanese cherry blossoms
my favorite
lotion

fr

you tell me
I smell nice
