Haiku Kukai 2
Global Haiku • Millikin University • Spring 2016
the conductor cuts off |
soft light of Sunday morning |
winds of change |
my face buried in his neck |
looking for you |
no more calls |
flowers wilting |
mismatched pottery |
drifting off to sleep |
late morning |
everything made her smile— |
favorite belt gone |
trees sway |
punch thrown |
Ray Bans flash |
laughing with friends |
season two finished. |
her love |
dementia sets in |
a bud closed tight— |
Valentine's Day |
man's best friend |
roaming the house |
the snow piles high |
two words |
determined |
her beautiful smile at |
dusty shelves |
fears sits |
the melted kit-kats |
whiskey on his breath |
after the lecture |
four missed calls |
at the restaurant
|
that silent face |
he's cool, calm water |
falling face |
his earthy bass |
still |
I loved you so dearly |
please |
beautiful spring day |
each day grows longer |
avoiding eye contact |
with each step |
in the valley |
with infinite storage |
house arrest |
in this apartment |
first base line |
headphones in |
father's old hat |
I watch him walk |
worlds away |
tik tok |
he greets her with a hot breakfast in bed before the nurse arrives |
he saw her every weekend and kept her from being herself |
on our park bench |
one silent dinner |
silently |
the hazy moon . . . |
