quiet conversations
headphones in
finals week

a hill covered in snow
kids sliding down
rosie cheeks

sledding down the hill
always better
than climbing back up

why am I alone
didn’t used to be
too late now

the wind
picks out
today's hairstyle

fall ball
metal baseball bat
stinging cold fingers

flannel jacket, levi jeans
the farmer rushes to hide
the calf from the January Breeze

two braids
two ribbons
glasses

it’s incredible
when you feel so inadequate
yet stand so tall

handwritten note
a knowing smile
new butterflies

eerie moon
lonesome child shivering
lullabies sung

so cold
the covers are anchored
impossible to leave

why must one decide
what to do for the rest of their life
when they're only 18?

the blade is gliding
fascinated by her gracefulness
ice skating

childrens' cheers
first recess
outside in months

no worries but t-ball
kicking my feet through the dirt
good old days

ice covered paths
not easy with crutches
bruised ego

boo
at the
zoo

phone off
silence on
peaceful

forgotten
stuck in the past
but still growing older

continual circles
skates carving tracks
fixed by the Zamboni
