three missed calls
all from Mom
oh! an angry text too

autumn night
she walks alone
under the streetlights

the spike of her heels
fall through the holes
in his stories

his face
makes a room full of adults
speak in puppy language

graduation deadlines
I wake up noticing
another grey hair

bump, set, spike
the sting of the ball
brings back memories

door handle
turning slowly
boyfriend surprise

black stillettos
come off
barefoot ballroom

underwater
nodding
like I understand

like the skull kids
we wander through the woods
in search of ourselves

gorgeous
so many reasons
I think I’ll start in the middle

St Patricks day
little foot prints
all around the room

baby
versus parent—
ultimate coup d'etat

rainy season
squished worms
on the sidewalk

a hidden cricket
chirping its song—
no answer

her perfume
forcing my eyes into
slow motion

fresh cut grass
the aroma fills
the country house

stinging red arms
linked by hands
red rover red rover

ugly some days
cute some days
ego stays on Kanye level

waking up to sunshine in my face
deciding to
be happy today

Sickness
permeating the house
he pauses at the door

observing the monkey
extracting lice
the baby's head.

these boys
only want you
when you're winning

moms favorite tulips
close up
the summer moon rises

the summer moon
lights the night
for perfect bites

I aspire to be a
hot range rover mom
with gorgeous kids

a dead branch
in a tree of green
the morning dove sings

crumbled barn
we play army men
among its debris

entrance to Hell,
I wave to my friends and family
as I wait in line

losing my phone—
reentering the world
as a new soul

speaking in
different tongues
our smiles are the same

black tie affair
for a blackout
night

up till 3am
the new Santa Clauses
we break in

now you can see
and now you can't
long hair

late night thirst
the real
obstacle course

choir practice
the wind
joins in

cardboard sign
i give what I can
to hopeful eyes

big muffins
straight from the oven
little bites

a star hangs on the wall
a journey
he will never take

yellow bus
his plans to make it
a travelling home

a howling wolf
in the field
dog’s hair on edge

scorching heat
a mirage
on the road ahead

Darty Haiku

couches outside
speakers shaking the house
Spring is here

a cold beer in hand
and sunburnt skin
darty szn

day drinking
calls for nap time
before round two

the perfect mixture
sunshine and beer
darty

sunburnt in a lawn chair
the beer keep me asleep
as the day parties on

the pool reflects
the sun
and the pregame

what’s that smell?
their eyes darting
to the kitchen sink

electric wine opener
best investment
ever.

get jacked
time to lift 420
on 4/20

swim trunks
soaked in beer
drying by the minute

the cloudless sun
warms
the summerbeer

may day
keg races—
better than Christmas

relaxing
beach chair and sunshine
in my driveway

growing apart
from immature friends
not mad

pitchers of natty
burgers on the grill
daytime party

keg at 10 am
too soon
for no one

getting called a snack
by a snack
let's picnic

grab a frisbee
and two cans
Kan-Jam

“no class today”
ah, the sweet sound
of music

a few years gone by
the whiskey
doesn't burn

finally,
what we all have been waiting for . . .
the ice cream truck
