the children

people looking down
all the time
at their phones

bells ring
horses trot
downtown shines with lights

woolen mittens
frozen tree branches
skating down the way

alone in the cold
the only salvation
is full

beer cans
found

fire in the chimney
wrapped in a blanket
smell of pine
