Contact

singing sparrows
 a parched child
runs back home

amongst the colored stones
rests the sea

worn out sand
embraces footsteps
of the child walking

first snowfall
wind whips icy waters

heavy clouds
cover the
shining moon

pausing—
she sends her spirit high

pounding drums
ignite the fire
abandoned home

over the hills
his cold body lies

flickering lights
one knock
burdens their lives

suffocating beneath
the warmth of the blanket

hibernating bears
emerge from slumber
fresh air

their final words
a fight

silent nights
in-between the couple
moonlight shines

unsigned birthday card
on the bedroom desk

the mailman runs
from a vicious
poodle

Italian sausage
neighborhood baseball game

footprints
flat on the cement
the blossom petals

keychain flickering
the light house reflection

memories flash
from the shipwreck
fallen comrades

silenced cell phone
terrible host

snap peas
never spoke English
since i was five

seeds showering
from the rocking bird feeder

thunder calls
the flickering night light
answers

empty playground
with laughter in the air

a blind man
smiles in a field
full of tulips

left with no tip
and a sloppy signature

fish bragging
about the size
of the fisherman

waves deliver
smooth blue grass

amongst an ocean of
stars
the moon

the rain drops
drift him off to sleep

the old man
finds
his final rest

empty room—
shadows crowd the wall

a memory lost
in a
walk among the trees

a friend gone lives
forever in the mind

in the center of
the stones
cherry blossom

the leaves of the trees
swirl with my thoughts
