This collection of haiku, hand selected by the author, represent the best haiku written by him. The haiku in this collection allow the reader to read deeper than the words on the page and find a greater meaning. The title, Tossing Rocks, perfectly captures the essence of reflection and finding deeper meaning in the world. Times of reflection allow for personal growth, which was the author's goal with this collection. The author deliberately put the pair of haiku together on each page, leaving it to the reader to draw an individual connection between the two.

the old oak
sways
gently in the wind

sunshine finally erupts
from the clouds
first pitch

the song on the radio
reminds me of how
things used to be

the beer in his hand
brings back
the old days

on his wrist tape
the initials
his motivation

The Lord's Prayer
chanted by 100 men
One

he gives
his last dollar
to the homeless man

a little yellow jacket
bounds between puddles
laughing

sitting on a bridge
tossing rocks
day's end
