Fairytale Nightmare:
Selected Haiku
by

Allisha Komala

dedicated to Elaina, my sister
the inspiration for my haiku

Writing haiku has helped me to express myself in a brand new way. I have chosen these particular haiku because I feel that they reflect me as a poet and a person. I hope you enjoy reading them. I think one can walk away from every haiku knowing or understanding something he didn't before.

little duckling feet
wading through puddles
I in my yellow slicker

drunken shadows outside
my hotel window
     they're Italian

after the fight
I am swallowed
by bedsheets torn

you never recover
forever tortured
. . . picked last in kickball . . .

a friday
wasted
(I hate you Kevin Costner)

it always rains on Halloween
every year
I'm an unhappy witch

puppet show on the Metro
GUNSHOT!
the puppeteer continues
