I began writing haiku in my last year of college. Many are based off true emotions and past moments I have experienced. This is my first collection and I am currently working on my next collection. As you read, I hope you enjoy and capture the moment and emotions.

hot summer afternoon
a sip of grandpa’s water
vodka

Bob Dylan poster
gone from the bedroom wall
so is my heart

she throws the ball
in the softball field
we were so close

vodka on the rocks
I try to smile
at his conversation

two girls
waiting at the window
dad never comes

smokey crowded bar
dance with me
forever

our fort of
brooms, chairs, couches . . .
we slept peacefully

a feverish cheek
leaves a face on Jack Frost
peephole to winter

vodka on the rocks
I try to smile
at his conversation
