Haiku

|
on the cottage
ivy leaves
they found their home |
|
|
alone and cold
a box on a road
the black kitten |
the silver watch
showing both times
of you and I |
|
|
the warning signs,
my grandmother's pain . . .
unnoticed. |
laughing I imagined
my friends,
as sisters |
|
|
opening the window
I let in
the cold breeze |
butterflies in love
I watch them
fly by |
|
|
the bird
shaking his head
at my outfit |
my cat and I
gossip about
the careless birds |
|
|
my sisters and I
choosing pink African daisies
for her grave |
organ songs
rooibos tea
grandmother's hum |
|
|
his handwriting
notes of rosewood
kind memories |
