Sky Fall

Sky Fall

carvings fade,
hearing the end
of October

*

harvest moon
watching over them

*

they spring to life
as we watch
The Great Pumpkin

*

autumn sky darkens
as we light up the night

*

the moon blocked
by the buildings
In an ever-growing city

*

she writes a letter
to an old friend

two strangers
admire the same
Picasso

*

the art exhibit
links them together

*

staring eyes
speak volumes
we must interpret

*

until the argument over
a brush stroke

*

resolved
they quarrel instead
in bed

*

soft showers eventually
lull them to sleep

puddles
marine warfare
with leaves

*

you sunk
my battleship

*

Halloween
a lone porch
with the light off

*

Grandpa went
to bed early

*

as a rabbit
I eat
all the blossoms

*

beautiful flowers
crunch, crunch

the devious white rabbit
plucks Alice
from the true wonderland

*

he decides, never again
coming down from his trip

*

he gets offered
a good time
flash backs stop him

*

peanut shells
on the wooden floor

*

wood-stove heat
creepy stares
from a moose-head

*

The smoke makes his allergies  worse

watery eyes
make him stumble
into mounted antlers

*

blood flows red
matting the dull brown fur

*

the hills out back
wet mahogany
secrets

*

kids ride down
away from man's watchful eye

*

full moon winks
as she passes
behind a cloud

*

ducklings sleep
in the water-nest

morning fog
the water
fades into sky

*

the captain
is suddenly homesick

*

fork in the road
I turn
around

*

the way home
bursting with springtime

*

fireworks
color blossoms
in the night sky

*

out of the woods
I once again see the stars
