Koolio's Wild Awesome Amazing Life

by
Alex Koulos

I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I signed up for this class. I knew I was going to have to get creative, of course. But I had no idea I would get myself to open up my mind the way I did. One of the biggest things I learned this semester was writing haiku from my memories. Had it no been for haiku class, I firmly believe I would have just overlooked these instances in my life and they would just continue to be distant memories. Instead of closing up and just letting the class pass me by, I rose up and let haiku improve my life. Mentally, I think about things in a different manner because of this class. Spiritually, I feel like I now have a way to take a step back from the world and just let myself think and write.

twitch of the nose
the thought rises
what is that?
