I wear a grain bucket
as a hat

the white barn
a halo

two corndogs and a yogurt
I guess that’s dinner

sitting on the riverbank
toes swimming
with minnows

cosmic botany
vast fields overlook
constellations upside down

surrounded by people
but still alone
fallen leaves

sitting on a lucky penny
cicada
shimmering green

learning to love
my crooked smile
in every mirror

wasn’t even 18
for 5 hours
when he groped me

philosophical
discussion
your car's extended warranty

a teddy bear
with no head
my baby

chipped toe nail polish
summer day
broken in flip flops

our steps
in sync
you and me

glide of the canoe
riples across still water
peepers croaking as the sun goes down

freshly sharpened pencil
the tip falls out
repeat

talking him down
knowing next time
we might not be there
