The Air Changes

by
Colin Arrick

My haiku collection is called “The Air Changes” because as I was making my collection I noticed that the tone of the haiku went from light to a dark.

on the radio
a familiar song
i singn until hoarse

painted skulls
death tastes a little
too sweet to me

~ Día de los Muertos

impatients
none understand
it takes time

flecks of gold
dance in hazel seas
a dark pool

alone
humming a tune
merely dreaming
